Mas Garrigues
From the lovely shaded terrace to the sun filled pool area, from the comfortable lounge to the practical summer kitchen, Mas Garrigues is an ideal holiday home. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate and our valley location we get more days of sunshine than any other part of France. Perfect vacation weather.

It sits on the banks of the River Tet at the end of a short lane that winds through cherry orchards and olive groves. Across the river is garrigues, the hilly brush land that is typical of the Pyrénées-Orientales. On warm days you can smell the wild thyme and rosemary. It was a working farm until a few years ago when it was converted into a home. The lounge is bright and comfortably furnished. There's a television and VCR for those evenings when you just want to relax, or keep the children occupied. There's also a CD player and a collection of CDs, and books in case you run out of reading material.
The dining are seats 8 comfortably although you may find that you eat most of your meals in the summer kitchen. You might want to try the pizza oven! We love to entertain and the kitchen is well supplied with pots and pans and good knives. You can buy fresh seasonal produce, meat, fish, and poultry at the market in Ille sur Tet and come home and try Mediterranean style cooking. Or barbeque in the summer kitchen.
There are three bedrooms and a mezzanine with a couch that makes into a bed so there is sleeping space for up to 8 people. There is a bathroom and WC in the house and a shower and toilet just off the summer kitchen.
You'll probably find that you spend a lot of time outdoors, on the front terrace surrounded by roses, on the sunny pool deck, or wandering through the olive groves.
If all that sitting by the pool is making you feel a bit guilty remember you can always use one of the bicycles provided to ride into Ille's sur Tet - about 15 minutes - to get the croissants for breakfast. You won't even feel guilty eating them!
Ski Vacation Accommodations
It's a good choice as a base for a skiing holiday in the Pyrénées. There are good family slopes within an hours drive. After a day on the slopes you can home and sit in front of the fire.
